On Friday, Hunter Biden filed a lawsuit against a computer repairman who leaked laptop photos of him using drugs and engaging in intimate activities, which is seen as a counter-attack to Republican attempts to portray the President’s son as being corrupt.
A lawsuit has been filed against John Paul Mac Isaac amidst efforts by opposition lawmakers to build a case of Hunter Biden’s alleged corrupt activities, aimed at damaging the reputation of his father, a Democrat who is expected to run for president again in the upcoming year.
Hunter Biden’s laptop contents have been the subject of numerous articles and accusations against the 53-year-old former financier. His past business dealings in Ukraine and China have continued to cast a shadow over Joe Biden.
In 2019, Hunter left the laptop at a shop owned by Mac Isaac in Delaware for repairs but did not retrieve it.
The following year, just before the election that saw Joe Biden running against incumbent Republican Donald Trump, the New York Post claimed to have emails and other documents from Hunter’s laptop that implicated him and his father in questionable business dealings with Ukraine while Biden Sr. was vice president in 2015.
The Post alleged that Mac Isaac handed over the laptop to the FBI and also made a copy of the hard drive, which he gave to former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Trump’s personal lawyer.
Despite President Biden’s repeated dismissal of the allegations, they have persisted, and materials from the laptop have been included in the Republican-controlled House Oversight Committee’s new investigation into the business dealings of Hunter Biden and his family.
