Atlanta: One killed, five injured in shooting at Atlantic Station

According to the Atlanta Police Department (Atlanta_Police), one person was killed, and five others were injured in a shooting near Atlantic Station Saturday evening in Atlanta, Georgia. The victims’ ages were estimated to be between 15 and 21.

Lt. Germain Dearlove of the Atlanta Police Department said that one man died at the scene and that five other people were shot and taken to nearby hospitals. The severity of their injuries was not specified.

Off-duty Atlanta police officers and station personnel escorted a group of people off Atlantic Station property around 8 p.m., according to police. Dearlove stated that they were juveniles who were removed for “unruly behavior” as well as curfew violations.

According to Dearlove, after the group was escorted off the property, a fight broke out near Atlantic Station, resulting in gunfire.

According to Dearlove, police are looking for the parties involved because preliminary information indicates that the conflict was between two groups, with two possible shooters. Authorities are unsure how many shots were fired at this time.
