On the occasion of Pakistan Day celebration at the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington D.C., Ambassador Masood Khan addressed a large gathering of dignitaries, ambassadors, diplomats, US government officials, foreign media representatives and Pakistani-American leaders. In his speech, Ambassador Khan paid tribute to the forefathers and Founder of the Nation for their miraculous struggle in transforming the vision of a separate homeland into a reality.
He also emphasized that Pakistan’s journey is for peace, security and prosperity, and despite the long and arduous struggle since the creation of the state, Pakistan is a resilient nation with a resolve to continue making strides towards a bright future and destiny of its people.
Ambassador Khan sent a message to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, expressing hope that they would one day realize their right to self-determination, and expressed his gratitude towards the Government and people of the United States for always standing beside Pakistan since independence.
Highlighting the upward trajectory of Pak-US relationship and recent high-level engagements, especially dialogues in energy and climate change, Ambassador Khan said that the road ahead for Pakistan-US relations was bright, and they would continue to work together to make this relationship more significant, substantive and beneficial for both countries.
Dr. Dafna Rand, Director of the Office of Foreign Assistance, speaking on behalf of US Secretary of State, conveyed greetings to Pakistan on their national day and celebrated the long history of the relationship and friendship between the two nations.
