World Sleep Day, which is being observed this Friday, March 17, aims to increase public awareness of the value of having a good night’s sleep.
The campaign’s catchphrase for this year is “Sleep is essential for health.”
Up to 8% of fatalities from any cause, according to a study by the American College of Cardiology, may be attributable to “bad sleep patterns,” whereas people with better sleep habits are less likely to pass away before time.
According to Statista Consumer Insights data, 39% of respondents in the United States claimed to have experienced a sleep disturbance in the 12 months before the study (trouble falling or staying asleep, insomnia, etc.).
Italians were among the survey’s worst sleepers, with 48 percent of them claiming a sleep disorder. In contrast, India had a higher percentage of good sleepers, with only 26 percent reporting poor sleep.
