Ukrainians affected by Russian military operation to receive compensation through government’s Diia app

Ukrainians whose houses were damaged or destroyed as a result of the Russian military operation in Ukraine will receive compensation starting May 2023. This will be carried out in accordance with the compensation mechanism approved by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy

However, there will be no monetary compensation for damaged property, but the restoration work will be either undertaken by the public authorities or the building materials will be provided to the applicant.

Ukraine’s current budget cannot cover all the needs for the restoration of damaged or destroyed property. However, citizens can apply for compensation through the government’s “Diia” application.
