The Vice President of United Arab Emirates (UAE), Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has launched the “”One Billion Meals”” campaign on Sunday, with the aim to address hunger and provide sustainable solutions to this issue. The campaign coincides with the upcoming holy month of Ramadan and is set to mobilize local, regional, and international efforts to combat and eliminate hunger within a sustainable institutional framework.
The campaign’s primary objective is to find sustainable solutions to address hunger and its causes, as well as contain its consequences by implementing targeted programs, projects, and initiatives within systematic plans and specific targets. With a focus on supporting the most vulnerable groups in the world, the campaign aims to activate sustainable programs to combat hunger, with a particular emphasis on creating a sustainable endowment fund.
The “”One Billion Meals”” campaign is set to be the largest local, regional, and international effort aimed at fighting hunger, creating a sustainable institutional framework, and providing sustainable solutions to address the issue. The initiative underscores the UAE’s commitment to advancing social welfare and alleviating poverty, both locally and globally.
