
Taiwan’s Penghu Defence Command Assesses Combat Readiness with Live-Fire Drill

Details of the Live-fire Exercise
On September 26, the Penghu Defense Command of Taiwan’s Army carried out a routine live-fire exercise. This exercise was conducted with a goal of evaluating the efficacy of the training and equipment, as well as to practice defending Penghu from potential enemy attacks. The simulation began with the troops inspecting ammunition, practicing tactical maneuvers, and positioning themselves strategically.

Subsequently, the troops carried out a simulated counterattack against targets in the water using a wide array of weaponry. The arsenal included M60 tanks, 155mm howitzers, 120mm mortars, 105mm howitzers, and assorted machine guns. Soldiers were trained in both point shooting and firing from stationary positions, showcasing their preparedness and aptitude as the bombardment hit the designated target areas successfully.
