PetroChina International Secures Major Diesel Supply Contract
PetroChina International’s Singapore branch, the largest oil and gas company in Asia, has been awarded a contract to supply four shipments of diesel to Sri Lanka. This development followed an invitation by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) for bids to obtain a long-term contract for the provision of four diesel shipments over a four-month period, from November 1, 2023, to February 29, 2024.

Out of the five bids received, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal put forth by the Minister of Power and Energy, Kanchana Wijesekera, to award the procurement to PetroChina International (Singapore). This was based on the recommendation of the Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee.
Singapore-Based Oil and Gas Companies Winning Big in Sri Lanka
Earlier in the month, a procurement contract for the supply of four shipments of Petrol 92 Octane to Sri Lanka for a period of four months, from September 21, 2023, to January 21, 2024, was awarded to the Singaporean energy firm ‘Vitol Asia’. This signifies a growing trend of Singapore-based oil and gas companies winning significant contracts in Sri Lanka, strengthening the country’s energy sector.
