JUST IN: #BNNUK Reports. According to the latest reports, sharing pornographic ‘deepfakes’ or ‘downblouse’ images without consent will be treated as a crime under the new legislation.
Simply put, under the new proposals, people who share explicit images or videos which have been manipulated to look like someone without the person’s permission could be jailed.
Justice Secretary Dominic Raab said the amendment will allow prosecutors to “come down like a tonne of bricks on those who abuse or intimidate” women and girls in England and Wales.”
Our message is very clear – we want girls, women, to have full confidence in the law and we want those who abuse and harass and intimidate them to feel the full force of the law,” he added.
