A New Milestone in Student Population

Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q), a Qatar Foundation partner university, has witnessed a significant surge in its student population, reaching a record high of 472 students. The diverse student body represents 61 different countries, making CMU-Q a global educational hub. Notably, almost 40% of the student population are Qatari citizens, reflecting the university’s strong ties with its host country.

Offering a Variety of Disciplines

CMU-Q offers a broad range of undergraduate degree programs, attracting students with various academic interests. The programs include biological sciences, business administration, computer science, and information systems. Additionally, students can choose from a plethora of electives in arts and sciences, providing a well-rounded education.

Avenues for Interdisciplinary Learning

The university encourages students to explore electives at other Qatar Foundation partner universities, promoting an environment of collaborative learning. This academic year, CMU-Q has introduced a joint minor in Multidisciplinary Energy Studies. This program is a collaborative effort with Georgetown University in Qatar and Texas A&M University at Qatar, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of energy studies from multiple perspectives.

Continuing Collaboration in Media and Politics

In addition to the newly introduced minor, CMU-Q continues to offer the Media and Politics minor in collaboration with Georgetown University in Qatar and Northwestern University in Qatar. This program combines the fields of media and politics, equipping students with the necessary skills to navigate the interconnected world of media and political landscapes.

Open Applications for Future Academics
