Intelligence-Based Operations Lead to Major Arrests
The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) announced a significant breakthrough in their fight against terrorism with the arrest of 12 alleged terrorists linked to the proscribed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and ISIS. The operation, based on reliable intelligence, was carried out across various cities in Punjab, including Sargodha, Rawalpindi, Multan, and Gujranwala.
Recovered Materials Indicate Planned Attacks
The arrested individuals, identified as Mir Ahmed, Habibur Rehman, Imran Muddasir, Zia, Adeel, and Farooq, were apprehended during the intelligence-based operations. Alongside the arrests, the CTD spokesperson revealed the recovery of explosive materials and equipment used for crafting suicide vests. These findings further solidify the suspicions of planned attacks by the apprehended terrorists.

Stringent Combing Operations Yield Positive Results
In an impressive display of efficiency, the CTD conducted a total of 249 combing operations throughout the week, resulting in the arrest of 40 suspects. Additionally, over 12,112 individuals were interrogated during these operations, showcasing the department’s commitment to maintaining security and peace in the region.
Prior to this successful operation, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Punjab police had already made headlines by neutralizing two terrorists associated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in a fierce shootout. These actions signify the relentless efforts of law enforcement agencies to curb terrorism and safeguard the lives of innocent citizens.
