President Buhari has urged voters to cast their ballots for their preferred candidates, even if politicians attempt to buy their votes. The president made the plea after casting his vote at polling unit 003, Sarkin Yara A in Daura, Katsina State.
Speaking in both English and Hausa with reporters, President Buhari reiterated his administration’s stance against vote-buying and the commercialization of politics.
He encouraged elected officials to refrain from such practices and advised voters to accept money from politicians but still vote for their favorite candidates.
The All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate, Sen. Bola Tinubu, won the presidential and national assembly elections held on February 25, and President Buhari expressed his gratitude to the electorate for their support.
