INEC officials are currently in the process of setting up polling booths in various parts of Nigeria, as voters slowly begin to arrive to kickstart the voting process.
In Kawo Ward of Kaduna, at polling unit 041, the setup is currently underway, with early voters expressing their desire to avoid long queues, as experienced during the previous presidential election.
Similarly, at polling unit 027 in Shaba Ward, Kaduna North Local Government, electoral officials have already arrived, although voters are yet to show up for accreditation and voting.
Over in Mandawari ward of Kano Municipal Local Government, people are already lining up in anticipation of the election. Unlike the presidential election, there appear to be fewer restrictions on vehicle movement, with no checkpoints or roadblocks by security officials.
