Delta Police Command Arrests 5 Fake EFCC Operatives

The Delta State Command of the Nigerian Police (@PoliceNG) has nabbed five persons who parade themselves as officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (@officialEFCC) to defraud members of the public.

The arrested suspects, all male, include 29-year-old Prince Allison, who claimed to be an EFCC contract staff in Port-Harcourt; 40-year-old Duke Okoro, based in Asaba; 32-year-old Onyocha Stanley, based in Owerri, 29-year-old George Chisom Onyeweagu based in Owerri, and 23-year-old Joseph Osinachi based in Lagos.

Their activities in the state had led to a protest by residents to demand an end to the operations of EFCC operatives in the state. Six of their victims have contacted the Delta Police Command, identifying them and listing what the criminal gang forcefully took from them.

One of the victims narrated how his house was forcefully entered, his possessions taken, and himself whisked away in a white Toyota Hiace.

Meanwhile, the Command is on the trail of other members of the gang. They will be arraigned in Court on completion of the investigation.
