Opportunities for Moroccan Students
Morocco’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has inked a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mide-Or, a subsidiary of Italy’s Leonardo Group, specializing in aerospace, defense, and security. This collaboration opens doors for Moroccan students to access advanced training programs, enriching their skill sets and professional experiences.
Advancing Morocco’s National Education Transformation
The MoU aligns with Morocco’s National Plan for Accelerating the Transformation of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation. The comprehensive agreement covers diverse areas of collaboration, emphasizing education, research, and innovation.
Fostering Research and Technology
The agreement includes provisions for scholarship programs geared towards Moroccan students and researchers, especially in cutting-edge technology fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), robotics, coding, and the Internet of Things. Additionally, it aims to strengthen partnerships between Moroccan and Italian universities, fostering knowledge exchange through scientific conferences and seminars.
Morocco’s Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Abdellatif Miraoui, and Mide-Or President Marco Minniti were present at the signing ceremony, along with Italian Ambassador to Morocco Armando Barucco. Miraoui highlighted the enduring relationship between Morocco and Italy and stressed that this MoU marks another significant step in advancing their two-century-long diplomatic cooperation.
He emphasized the potential of the action plan initiated in July, suggesting that this partnership serves as a solid foundation for collaboration across various domains, particularly in higher education and research.
Meanwhile, Marco Minniti emphasized the strategic importance of Morocco in the region. He noted that education and higher education are essential tools for fostering dialogue and international cooperation. In his closing remarks, Minniti expressed the belief that this memorandum will contribute to a promising future for young generations, fostering global collaboration and knowledge exchange in the process.
