Mexico City Mayor Claudia Sheinbaum assured that for the march called by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador next Sunday, a special security operation will not be necessary because she expects it to be peaceful.
At a press conference, Claudia Sheinbaum indicated that the demonstration to be led by the president on the occasion of his four years in office will be “peaceful”, so there will only be a “normal” security operation in case there is “any provocation”.
Without mentioning a number of police or emergency response elements that will participate in the mobilization, the head of government added: “Actually, just in case there is any provocation, any issue, but in reality, we know that it is not necessary”.
Sheinbaum reiterated that she will be accompanying President López Obrador, as well as governors, and considered that there will be hundreds of thousands in the march that will begin at 9:00 a.m. from the Angel of Independence to the capital’s Zócalo.
