Mexicos Popocatepetl volcano recorded the “exhalation” of gas and water vapor from the at a height of 1700 meters on March 17. According to Mexican seismologists exhalations have increased in the volcano in the recent past.
Mexico’s National Center for Prevention of Disasters (CENAPRED) reported that there were 102-215 steam-and-gas emissions, often containing ash, rising from Popocatépetl each day between February 14-21. In addition to that, minor explosions also occurred almost daily.
The area has been put on alert and is being closely monitored by the state authorities for updates. More timely details on the volcano are awaited.
