Ten people lost their lives in Sambhal district, Uttar Pradesh, India when the roof of a cold storage building collapsed. The incident prompted Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to establish a committee to investigate the cause of the accident.
The authorities rescued 21 people from the rubble, but ten of them died, and at least three others sustained severe injuries. The rescue operation is ongoing, and the Chief Minister has promised compensation of 2 lakh to the families of the deceased, 50,000 to the seriously injured, and free care for all those affected by the incident.
The Chief Minister has also formed a committee to investigate the matter, and it has been asked to submit its report as soon as possible. The officials are taking necessary measures to ensure that the injured receive proper care, and the rescue work is being carried out by the National Disaster Response Force and the State Disaster Response Force.
Five people are still under medical care, and six have been discharged from the hospital, according to the district magistrate of Sambhal, Manish Bansal.
