According to the Delhi Police, a man armed with a gun and a knife was seen rushing through the streets of Delhi. It was reported that the man had cut his own throat and was then chasing after pedestrians in the market.
The Delhi Police received two PCR calls on March 16th, at 6:40 p.m. and 6:50 p.m. reporting the incident. The man, identified as Krishan Sherwal, was spotted near Nathu Colony Chowk with a knife and pistol.
The police and public attempted to subdue Sherwal at Nathu Colony Chowk, during which he injured a police officer and took the officer’s pistol, firing one shot. The authorities were able to apprehend him, and the pistol was retrieved from his possession.
Currently, Sherwal is receiving medical treatment, and the case has been filed under sections 307/394/397/186/353 IPC and 27 Arms Act at PS MS Park. It has been reported that Sherwal was suffering from depression following his divorce from his wife, and further investigation is being conducted.
