President Joe Biden expressed full support for Selenskij and his plea against the aggressor. The U.S. President used his annual address to the United Nations General Assembly to rally the world in support of Ukraine. He warned against appeasing Moscow in a way that would reward its aggression and encourage the further use of force to redraw the global map. He also raised concerns about war fatigue at home and abroad and emphasized the need to continue supporting Ukraine to deter other would-be aggressors.
Although the Ukrainian issue was among the key topics discussed at the UN forum, it was not the only one. The event was marked by discussions on numerous global crises and challenges. UN Secretary-General Guterres’ speech set the context for these discussions as he emphasized the need to address these challenges to promote global peace and stability.

Volodymyr Zelensky offered his own stirring speech, arguing to the assembled leaders and diplomats that President Vladimir V. Putin’s war against Ukraine was a war against all of their nations as well. He accused Moscow of weaponizing food, energy, and even children with dire effects not just in his country but in far flung corners of the world. He called on the international community to unite and defeat the aggressor.
Zelensky is expected to address the U.N. Security Council with a plan to discourage war even after the fighting in his country eventually ends. He will then head to Washington, where he will meet with Mr. Biden at the White House and visit Capitol Hill to plead for continuing assistance.
