Domestic Company Expresses Interest in Investing in Water Transfer from Panjshir to Kabul to Address Water Scarcity

A representative of the Habib Gulzar Group Company met with Acting Industry and Commerce Minister, Nooruddin Azizi, to express their readiness to invest in the transfer of sea water from Panjshir to Kabul. The initiative was proposed as a solution for the ongoing water scarcity crisis in Kabul, which has affected the livelihood of residents in the area.

Company Aims for Sustainable Solution to Water Scarcity

According to the Ministry statement, the company also pledges to bring one of their manufacturing branches, Nestle, to Afghanistan. The company aims to promote and invest in sustainable solutions to the issue of water scarcity and contribute to the overall economic growth of the country.

Meeting Challenges for a Positive Outcome

Minister Azizi welcomed the company's investment proposal and emphasized addressing the challenges in the process of realizing the initiative. The projected cost for the transfer of river water from Panjshir to Kabul is estimated to be around $3 million. The expected outcome, however, is to provide residents with potable water that can significantly reduce the impact of the water crisis in the area.
