According to Cong Liang, the NDRC Deputy Director, there have been consistent efforts over recent years to actively promote the planning and construction of Fujian’s transportation infrastructure. This has led to the establishment of a comprehensive, multi-dimensional transportation network, providing a solid foundation for connecting the transportation channels between Fujian and Taiwan.

The deputy director further emphasized the development of technical capabilities for the high-speed connection between the two regions. The vision includes promoting a greater number of goods from the Taiwan region to reach Eurasian markets through channels like the China-Europe freight trains.
