The forest fires in Chile which have raged for more than a week have killed at least 24 people so far forcing them to impose a nighttime Chile declares curfew in south-central regions. President Gabriel Boric Font said a curfew was necessary to guarantee the safety of people.
The curfew will come into effect on Friday in 28 municipalities in hard-hit regions of Biobio, Nuble, and La Araucania, said Biobio military chief Jorge keitai.
The fires have left 24 people dead and more than 2,000 injured and more than 300,000 hectares of forest have been destroyed.
