Canada sends armoured vehicle and military aid to support Ukraine in conflict

In a show of solidarity with Ukraine, Canada has sent an armoured recovery vehicle to aid the country's efforts to sustain its heavy armour. Canadian Defence Minister Anita Anand announced the move and posted a video on social media showing a cargo plane being loaded with what appeared to be a Bergepanzer 3 tank.

The Bergepanzer 3 is a versatile armoured vehicle that can tow heavy armour, transport troops, evacuate personnel, and clear obstacles. This shipment is part of Canada's ongoing commitment to support Ukraine in its conflict with Russia.

"We’re providing an armoured recovery vehicle to help Ukraine sustain the heavy armour that we’ve donated," said Anand. "Ukraine will win – and we will stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes."

Anand also confirmed that a new tranche of military aid is en route to Ukraine, including artillery munitions and air defense missiles. The aid package will also include training ammunition for the Leopard 1 tanks, which Germany has promised to supply.
