In a show of solidarity with Ukraine, Canada has sent an armoured recovery vehicle to aid the country’s efforts to sustain its heavy armour. Canadian Defence Minister Anita Anand announced the move and posted a video on social media showing a cargo plane being loaded with what appeared to be a Bergepanzer 3 tank.
The Bergepanzer 3 is a versatile armoured vehicle that can tow heavy armour, transport troops, evacuate personnel, and clear obstacles. This shipment is part of Canada’s ongoing commitment to support Ukraine in its conflict with Russia.
“We’re providing an armoured recovery vehicle to help Ukraine sustain the heavy armour that we’ve donated,” said Anand. “Ukraine will win – and we will stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes.”
Anand also confirmed that a new tranche of military aid is en route to Ukraine, including artillery munitions and air defense missiles. The aid package will also include training ammunition for the Leopard 1 tanks, which Germany has promised to supply.

Canada has already committed eight Leopard 2A4 tanks to Ukraine, with four of them reportedly delivered to Poland. The country’s support for Ukraine is part of a broader effort to strengthen its international relationships and support its allies.
Canada has been vocal in its condemnation of Russia’s aggression in Ukraine and has joined other countries in imposing economic sanctions on the country. The country’s military aid is a sign of its commitment to help Ukraine defend itself and maintain its territorial integrity.
In summary, Canada’s decision to send an armoured recovery vehicle and additional military aid to Ukraine demonstrates its unwavering support for the country in its conflict with Russia. This move strengthens the Canada-Ukraine relationship and shows that Canada is committed to standing with its allies in times of need.
