On Wednesday, lawmakers in Bangladesh stated that the country is on track to becoming the 25th strongest economy in the world by 2035, provided current development programs are maintained.
The discussion, which took place during a session of the Jatiya Sangsad with Deputy Speaker Shamsul Haque Tuku in the chair, highlighted various development initiatives in sectors such as communication, socio-economics, education, youth and sports, and information and communication technology (ICT) under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The lawmakers noted that Bangladesh’s per capita income has increased from $2,591 in 2020-2021 to $2,824 and that the country’s GDP has grown from $60 million in 2005 to $465 million, which they attributed to strong leadership.
