The Minister of Women, Gender and Diversity, Ayelén Mazzini, called for “urgent action” against gender violence

The Minister of Women, Gender and Diversity, Ayelén Mazzini, called for “urgent action” against gender violence on the occasion of the commemoration of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

“On this November 25, I call for action. To resignify the cry of the first Ni Una Menos. To make the strength of the women’s and diversity movements be felt in every corner of the country. Let’s build together an Argentina Free of Violence”, urged the Minister.

The Minister stated that “One out of every two women has experienced a situation of gender-based violence: this fact must move us to urgent action” and warned that “we do not want to lose even one more female partner to gender-based violence”.

“I have the mandate of the streets and the personal and political conviction to continue working to strengthen policies and to enhance the articulations between all levels of the State,” said the minister.

Mazzini remarked that he talked to the mother and father of Lucia Perez, a teenager murdered in October 2016 in Mar del Plata, about “how exhausting it is to deal with the negligence of Justice”.
