The body of Eliana Pacheco, the 24-year-old woman who disappeared last Sunday when she boarded a bus to go to a fair in the town of Olmos, was found this Friday in a wasteland in the city of La Plata.
The discovery took place around 10 a.m. in a ditch next to a dirt road, located near the intersection of 38th and 203rd streets, in the outskirts of La Plata, close to where her ID card had been found on Thursday.
The spokespersons detailed that the body was dressed in blue jeans, a black t-shirt and fuchsia sneakers, lying on its left side and in an advanced state of decomposition.
The experts who worked at the scene together with the Platense prosecutor Virginia Bravo estimated the date of death to be five days ago and could not determine at first sight the cause of death, which will be determined by the autopsy.
Eliana’s parents and cousins approached the scene in order to be able to recognize her, and were immediately restrained by a psychologist from Victim Assistance, due to the emotional state they were in.
