National Gendarmerie detects more than 100 kilos of marijuana hidden in a double bottom of a vehicle. The gendarmes found the drugs after inspecting a car that was being towed from Formosa to Santa Fe.
Gendarmerie officers from the “El Colorado” Section of the “Pirané” Squadron 5 were carrying out road controls on Provincial Route No. 1, at the Libertad Bridge, when they inspected a vehicle being towed.
During the search, the uniformed officers noticed a strange odour, so they intensified the control of the vehicle with the support of the narcotics detector dog “Dana” and found a “double bottom” type compartment where 100 rectangular packages were hidden.
Members of the Criminalistics and Forensic Studies Department carried out the “Narcotest” field tests, which showed positive results for “cannabis Sativa”. A total of 100 kilos and 665 grams were seized.
Federal Court No. 2 and the Federal Prosecutor’s Office of Formosa intervened and ordered the seizure of the drug, the vehicle and other elements of interest for the case. Two people were arrested.
