Residents of Gayan district in Paktika have urged authorities to address the issues related to educational institutions and a shortage of teachers.
Although the district has seven schools most of them are in a dilapidated condition due to maintenance issues, forcing students to learn in the open air, reports said.
A student, Jawed talking about the issue said, “when it’s raining in this district schools are off because we cannot study in the rain and children cannot study in an open space.” A spokesman for the Paktika governor,
Sanaullah Masoom said that they will resolve the challenges of education in the Gayan district. “We asked the government to make two schools in this district and the authorities assured us about this,” he said.
