Turkey to hold presidential and parliamentary polls in May

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Sunday that, Presidential and parliamentary elections in Turkey will be held on May 14

Erdogan made announcement of at a meeting with the youth in north-western Bursa Province

Erdogan said, “I call on our youth who will take part in the elections for the first time to make a right choice”

“during the voting, which will take place on May 14”, continues Erdogan

Earlier, presidential polls in Turkey were scheduled for June 18

Erdogan said, he would sign a decree on the elections on March 10. “We will use our official competences on March 10”

“After which a 60-day period for the organization of elections will begin”, said Erdogan

Erdogan led coalition has named ruling President Erdogan as their candidate for the upcoming elections

Polls are rescheduled ahead of university exams, vacations, and pilgrimage to Mecca by over 100,000 Turkish nationals
