PrideFest, along with multiple organizations, organized a candlelight vigil honoring the victims of the Club Q shooting in Colorado Springs.
On Saturday, November 19th, officials say a 22-year-old entered a nightclub armed with multiple weapons and opened fire in the LGBTQ+ nightclub, killing five and injuring at least 19.
The Chairperson of PrideFest said, “We tend to collectively be a large family as the LGBTQ community and so, this is a chance for us all to get together, to collectively mourn..we won’t be judged, we will be welcome.”
“It’s sad that we have to experience another tragic incident like this,” said Neil Lequia, who attended the vigil with his partner Paul Sweeny.
