"We are the most powerful cartel," says one member in a video posted on social networks, which shows around 30 armed people, dressed in military-style uniforms, with their faces covered and a black tarp with the initials CJNG on a map of Aguascalientes in the background.

They began the message by addressing a man identified as Jorge Cano Guerra, allegedly a member of the jurisdiction's Attorney General's Office, accusing him and his team of "planting drugs and torturing" CJNG members and receiving bribes.

"Remember that you are a clock, we know all your movements since you were receiving monthly payments of 200,000 pesos ( US$10,458) to inform us of the movements of your house," maintains the subject speaking in the video.

At the end of the recording, the subjects claimed to be commanded by "El Mencho," the leader of the CJNG, Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, saying that his criminal organization does not kidnap or "ask for quotas." "The people of the state know that we are here to help," they said.
