Strengthening EU-Cyprus Ties: Study Visit Deepens Collaboration
The General Secretariat for European Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recently coordinated a study visit of EU officials aimed at enhancing relations between member states' administrations and the European Commission. The visit, which took place in Nicosia, Cyprus, served as a platform to foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and a better understanding of the political, administrative, and economic structures of a member state.
Promoting Innovation and Exchange: CYENS Centre's Role in Nicosia's Growth
During the visit, Ambassador Louis Telemachou, General Secretary of the General Secretariat for European Affairs, along with representatives from the European Commission's Directorates-General, were warmly welcomed by Nicosia mayor Constantinos Yiorkadjis in the newly established conference room of the Municipal Council. The event provided an opportunity to showcase the pivotal role played by the CYENS Centre of Excellence in positioning Nicosia as a thriving hub for research, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

Accompanied by municipal secretary Myria Pilakouta, the EU delegation embarked on a tour of the Old City Hall Market, an upcoming venue that will soon host the activities of the CYENS Centre of Excellence, the Nicosia Entrepreneurship and Innovation Hub, and the new Nicosia City Hall. The visit enabled EU officials to gain firsthand insights into the challenges, local needs, and prospects within Cyprus while fostering a sense of cooperation and mutual interest.
