An Inside Look Behind #TwitterFiles that #ElonMusk Doesn't Want You to See: The Trolls That Still Control the Asylum

BNNFiles Part 1: On January 11th, 2023, #BNN founder Gurbaksh Chahal (@gchahal) and his wife, actress Rubina Bajwa-Chahal (@bajwarubina24), had their @Twitter accounts suspended in a manner inconsistent with Twitter's own "new" policies and procedures for "free speech," just hours after Mr. Chahal posted a video commemorating the couple's one-year anniversary.

Mr. Chahal was on day six of a seven-day suspension for defending his wife from a sexually abusive predator who was hiding behind an anonymous account part of a #NAFO troll group, which had spawned thousands of similar threats from its users to Mrs. Rubina Bajwa-Chahal. Our original thread also clearly states a timeline of #BNN's previous 10-month issues with Twitter, as well as a series of censorship issues, each of which has its own #BNNFiles series.

Chahal's account was reactivated before the suspension timer expired, then given a secondary suspension, resulting in his account going into “suspended mode” and his wife's accounts being “permanently suspended” shortly after Mr. Chahal posted their wedding anniversary video.

Rubina Bajwa-Chahal's account had never been suspended before, let alone received a Twitter warning about any issues with it. When her account was "permanently suspended," @TwitterSafety did not send an email or notification outlining ANY rules that had been broken.

Mr. and Mrs. Chahal's only communication has been only one-way through Twitter Support, where no communication or acknowledgement of even a ticket has been received, making the situation even far more perplexing.

Mr. Chahal’s corporate company Twitter accounts, @procurenet and @medriva, have asked Twitter and @ellagirwin to comment, as the same trolls have said they had planned to “mass-report” and shut down these accounts as well in previous threads.

When a #BNNUS reporter, used his personal Twitter account to ask @TwitterSafety, @TwitterSupport, @ElonMusk, @DavidSacks, and @Ellagirwin for comment, his account was promptly banned under "a so-called ban evasion."

"Ban evasion" has been a common vague policy excuse used to shut down accounts without explanation, most notably all of the @BNNBreaking accounts on Twitter.

#BNNFiles has learned that the accounts claiming responsibility for these recent attacks are linked to a variety of cyber criminal organizations and movements, including the pro-Ukrainian group "North Atlantic Fellas Organization," also known as #NAFO on Twitter.

Former US Congressman @AdamKinzinger, who goes by "Fella" on Twitter, supports #NAFO.

The main account taking credit for the operation against #BNN Mr. Chahal and his wife is @sleeping_kali, who has dozens of connections to the Anonymous Collective, which is known for hacking governments and companies and then selling or dumping that information, which has in the past included customers' credit card numbers, names, phone numbers, and email addresses.

#BNNFiles contacted Steven Jarvis, a researcher studying malign influence operations on @Twitter who had previously investigated attacks on Mr. Chahal and the #BNN Network.

"Twitter Safety has given out developer tools to third parties, people who don't work for the company, so it's not surprising that this is still happening," he said. "Peiter Zatko, former head of trust at Twitter, recently testified in front of the US Congress that third parties could get ahold of these tools, allowing bad actors to ban accounts, steal user data, and cause mayhem.”

“That has been happening for years.”

“It is still happening under Elon Musk, though clearly getting worse as he encourages abusive accounts to use his platform by sending coded messages signaling to users of 8chan and kiwifarms, two deeply abusive social media platforms, to come enjoy free speech on Twitter.”

“What happened to Rubina with the rape and sexual predatory threats is consistent with Fred Brennan’s #GamerGate, the radicalization program he hosted first on #Wizardchan, then on #8Chan, which he founded.”

“That movement attracted white supremacists that used child porn and misogyny and encouraged suicide ideation, so it is troubling to see Twitter using the iconography and language after restoring so many dangerous accounts previously banned.” 

Mr. Jarvis recognized the @sleeping_kali account as one that frequently interacts with others that he is currently investigating; accounts that he says work likely as contract workers for two groups, one of which is Yonder Inc., a company out of Austin, Texas, and a secondary splinter group, nicknamed "theNoNews network," where many former members of the Anonymous Collective interact.

Jarvis went on to say that previous attacks on #BNN were directly caused by @conspirator0, a Canadian who claims to be a bot expert on Twitter and who had previously obtained Twitter Safety developer tools.

"This summer, when Mr. Chahal called him out for being a fraud, @conspirator0 took it personally. When Mr. Chahal confronted him, I was watching @conspirator0's feed, the people associated with it, and the coordinated attacks that followed. Soon, after all of the verified #BNN accounts were deactivated. 

According to reports, #BNN accounts were taken down one by one, which Twitter Safety would never do. Twitter was already removing one million bots per day, so they would simply map out the network, enter it into a spreadsheet, and ban the entire batch. What’s even more baffling is that they would ban BNN Verified accounts but keep the BNN fake-newsroom accounts running by imposters. @Conspirator0 had access to a tool that allowed him to delete one account at a time."

Mr. Jarvis speculated that the tactics used to ban Mr. and Mrs. Chahal's accounts strongly suggest that this was done again by a third-party console, as Twitter Safety sends an email explaining why the suspension or ban was imposed.

"After Musk bought Twitter officially, @conspirator0 hit a number of accounts, such as @PeterBackes3 and @baddcompani banning them when Safety had turned off almost all consoles, the developer tools that allow an employee to moderate accounts.”

“None of them got emails, which raised a big flag.”

A few tests were run that drew @conspirator0's attention, resulting in him banning the test accounts, and they, too, received no email from Twitter Safety. 

At this time, Ella Irwin of Twitter has not responded to e-mails about the bans imposed on Mr.Chahal, his wife Rubina Bajwa-Chahal or our #BNNUS reporter.

Mr. Chahal was also a driving force behind the launch of the #DataDrop analysis behind Twitter, which was the only public source of information the world received about Twitter's actual mDAU prior to the acquisition, which even Musk took notice of.

Mr. Chahal hoped Musk would improve Twitter, but his letter to his attorney on August 3rd, prior to the acquisition letter, highlighting the direct attacks, has gone ignored.

These third-party actors used the same "mass-reporting" and "bullying" tactics to suspend Chahal Foundation's verified @ChahalNonProfit account, which had spent $330,000 on suicide prevention ads to date, as well as @gchahal's verified author page, @belimitlesscom, with Twitter remaining silent to date.

#BNNFiles will be an ongoing series on the BNN Network.

UPDATE: In subsequent tweets, #NAFO accounts that "fake mass-reported" @gchahal @bajwarubina24 in order to trigger a "suspension" for "ban evasion" began suggesting doing the same for @procurenet and @medriva accounts.

The average #Twitter user has no idea what "ban evasion" is, let alone why a "policy" term would be appropriate to "mass report" an account. This clearly indicates one of the "mass reporting tactics" used by these organizations to shut down accounts via a policy term of "ban evasion."

This also implies a direct, coordinated attack to continue to compromise vulnerable @TwitterSafety and @TwitterSupport systems, as third-party actors target and harm #BNN, Mr. Chahal and his family, The Chahal Foundation, and any corporate-related entity, while the #Twitter network or management fails to respond or catch anything.



Twitter Management, Twitter Safety, Twitter Legal, and Twitter Support have yet to communicate with BNN in any capacity since being directly informed of this matter on January 11th.
