After 23 seasons in the NFL, Tom Brady announced his retirement on February 1, 2023. However, the New England Patriots have invited him to their home opener, according to team owner Robert Kraft.

Brady’s Achievements with the Patriots

Brady won a record seven Super Bowls, with six of those victories coming from his 20-year tenure with the Patriots. Kraft spoke highly of Brady’s contribution, saying, “the greatest player in the history of the game played right here in Foxboro.”

Celebrations Planned for Brady

Kraft confirmed that the opening game will be the first of many celebrations to honor Tom Brady and thank him for his contribution to the team. The NFL’s full schedule will be released on Thursday night.

Kraft’s Desire for Brady to Retire as a Patriot

A day after Brady announced his retirement, Kraft expressed his desire for the quarterback to sign a one-day contract and retire as a Patriot. Kraft stated, “To us, he has always been and always will be a Patriot. We will do everything in our power to bring him back, have him sign off as a Patriot and find ways to honor him for many years to come.” However, Brady has not yet agreed to this proposal.

Brady’s Retirement Announcement

This was Brady’s second retirement announcement, with the first coming on the same date in 2022. However, he changed his mind and played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for one more season.
