In the eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), the race for the most runs was intense between Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam. Rizwan initially climbed to the top spot on the list with 516 runs, but during Eliminator 2, Babar Azam took over as captain of Peshawar Zalmi and surpassed Rizwan by scoring 517 runs in total.
However, during the final match against Lahore Qalandars, Rizwan made a comeback by scoring two boundaries, bringing his total to 524 runs and securing his position at the top of the list once again.
It’s worth noting that Mohammad Rizwan is the only batter in PSL history to have scored 500+ runs in three seasons, while Babar Azam has achieved this feat in two editions. The competition between the two players has been a highlight of PSL 8, and their performances have been impressive throughout the tournament.
