At the meet, Omanyala faced off against Olympic champion Marcell Lamont Jacobs, and Ivory Coast’s Arthur Cisse. Omanyala had a slow start, with Cisse and Jacobs pulling ahead, but he quickly picked up the pace and won the race with a powerful burst in the final half.

Omanyala's victory is his third in the tour of France, having lost only in his first race in Miramas. The 27-year-old sprinter broke his previous record of 6.55 seconds last week, and this new record of 6.54 seconds is his personal best.

In an interview after the race, Omanyala said that he was dedicating the new record to his father. He comes back to Kenya with his confidence high and motivation at the top of his game ahead of the start of the outdoor tour. The Nairobi leg of the Athletics Kenya meets is scheduled for the end of the month.

Omanyala has also expressed his excitement for the Diamond League season-opener set for May 5 in Doha, Qatar. The Kenyan sprinter is hoping to receive invitations to demonstrate a series of masterful performances.

He chose to compete in the 60m sprint to sharpen his starting strategy and increase his speed, and he focused on polishing up his block starts in France because the 60m is all about the dash. With his impressive performance at the Lievin World Indoor Tour meet, Omanyala has shown that he is a force to be reckoned with on the track.
