Rehabilitation Journey of Football Star Artem Milevsky

Artem Milevsky’s Struggle and Rehabilitation
Former star of Kyiv’s “Dynamo” and the Ukrainian national team, Artem Milevsky, is currently undergoing rehabilitation treatment due to serious health problems. The cost of the rehabilitation services has been covered by Ihor Surkis, the president of the capital’s grand club, who has fulfilled his promise to support the former footballer in his time of need. This decision was made following the emergence of a video online depicting Milevsky in a visibly poor state, which alarmed fans and former teammates alike.
Cost Breakdown of Milevsky’s Treatment
The total cost for a week of Milevsky’s rehabilitation stands at 175 thousand hryvnia. This cost encompasses several services and amenities to aid in the ex-forward’s recovery. The inpatient treatment for Milevsky amounts to 105 thousand hryvnia and includes dietary nutrition, services of the medical staff, oxygen therapy, and individual care. Apart from this, Surkis is also funding an additional 70 thousand hryvnia, which covers treatment, consultations, medication, and laboratory and diagnostic tests.

Milevsky’s Deteriorating Health
Concerns about Milevsky’s health arose when a video appeared online showing him in a poor state, signing shirts for a questionable auction. His deteriorating condition was confirmed by another former striker of the national team, Yevgen Seleznyov, and Alexander Aliyev. The ex-footballer’s mental and physical condition had notably worsened since he ended his playing career in 2021, causing concern among fans and former teammates. Despite the attempts made by Aliyev, Seleznyov, and Surkis to get Milevsky into hospital, he initially refused and later stopped communicating altogether.
The Downhill Journey Post Retirement
Artem Milevsky, once considered one of the most scandalous football players in the post-Soviet space, had a notable downturn in his life after retiring from football in 2021. Known for his brilliant play on the field and his lively presence off-field, Milevsky’s lifestyle took a significant toll on his health. After retiring, he noticeably gained weight and overall appeared unhealthy. His name, if it appeared in news reports, was exclusively in relation to alcohol abuse.
Support from Former Teammates and Friends
Milevsky’s condition has led to an outpouring of concern and support from former teammates and friends. Despite Milevsky’s initial reluctance to seek help, his friends and colleagues continued to express their willingness to assist him. Their efforts finally paid off when Milevsky was admitted to the hospital, marking the beginning of his long journey to recovery. The support extended by Ihor Surkis in covering all expenses for Milevsky’s treatment has been greatly appreciated by all.
