As part of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, Morocco will face South Africa on June 17. Having already secured their qualification for the tournament back in March, the Atlas Lions will aim to maintain their momentum and showcase their strength against South Africa. The match holds significance as both teams will strive for a positive result.

In addition to the experienced players, Regragui has included some new faces and recently called-up players in the squad. Among them is Oussama Idrissi, who opted to play for Morocco instead of the Netherlands and received FIFA's approval for the switch in 2019. Joining him is Fahd Moufi, a right-back from Portimonense SC, receiving his first call-up to the senior team.

The selection also features Youssef El Motie, Youssef Maleh, and Abdelkabir Abqar. Maleh had previous call-ups in 2021, while Abqar recently joined the team for friendly matches against Brazil and Peru. The diverse composition of the squad highlights the coach's intention to tap into the talent pool and build a strong team for future challenges.

As the national team intensifies its preparations, football enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the matches against Cape Verde and South Africa. Fans will be looking forward to witnessing the skills, teamwork, and determination of the Atlas Lions as they strive for success on the international stage.
