Ghana coach Otto Addo feels Cristiano Ronaldo’s penalty was a gift from the referee.

According to Ghana’s senior national team head coach Otto Addo, he believes Cristiano Ronaldo’s penalty during Ghana’s 3-2 loss to Portugal was a gift from the referee.
Ronaldo won and converted the penalty in the 65th minute to give Portugal the lead, making him the first man to score in five FIFA World Cups.
However, after handling his first World Cup game, Addo stated at the post-match conference at Stadium 974 that American referee Ismail Elfath erred in awarding Portugal a penalty.
“I think it was a terribly bad decision, we were playing the ball… “I’m not sure why VAR didn’t come up; there was no explanation,” Addo stated.
“It was a poor decision.” “It was a foul against us,” Addo explained.
“If someone scores a goal, congratulations,” he continued. But this was a gift, a genuine gift.”
After the game, Addo revealed that he attempted to speak with the Major League Soccer referee about several of the decisions that went against Ghana.
“I meant to do it calmly, but he was at a meeting,” he added.
He was not on our side. We received a few yellow cards, which were well-deserved, but there was also jersey pulling.
