A New Champion Emerges

Finishing just two minutes behind Saramotins, Toms Flaksis secured second place in the race. The third place went to Roberts Murnieks, another seasoned MTB competitor, who finished the race in 2 hours, 36 minutes, and 29 seconds.
Women Competitors Shine
The LVM MTB Marathon also saw impressive performances from women competitors. Lija Laizane, a professional mountain biker, emerged victorious in the women’s 60km race. Like Saramotins, Laizane showcased her prowess on challenging terrains and secured her victory in 3 hours, 1 minute, and 56 seconds.
Shorter Distances for Less Experienced Riders
There were also shorter distances in the marathon for less experienced riders. In the men’s 30km race, Ricards Veide took the victory, while the women’s event was won by Marta Kivleniece.
