Anticipation Builds for the Prix Petr du Pays de Thiérache Harness Race

A Level D Race to Watch
Anticipation is building for the upcoming Prix Petr du Pays de Thiérache, a level D harness race scheduled to be held at the esteemed La Capelle racetrack. This exciting race will cover a substantial distance of 2750 meters. The race is open to seasoned horses aged between 6 to 10 years, who have yet to reach a winning amount of €291,000. Horses who have already secured wins of €151,000, however, will face a setback of 25 meters.
Strong Contenders and Potential Winners
Several horses have been identified as potential frontrunners in this highly competitive race. HEADSCOTT, a horse who showed significant promise early in his career, is one of them. Despite experiencing a challenging period this year, the horse made an impressive return to form with a third-place finish in a Level D race at Vichy on September 16. If he delivers a similar performance, he is considered a theoretical first chance for the upcoming race.
HORS BORD is another horse to watch. He has consistently performed well this year, securing a spot in the top four in eleven out of twelve races. His previous victory on the La Capelle racetrack additionally bolsters his chances of winning.
Other Promising Participants
GHALIE DU GOUTIER, a high-quality mare, also stands a good chance of winning despite her initial 25-meter handicap. She previously finished third in the Quinté+ level A on May 27 at Enghien, demonstrating her potential for a strong performance in this race.
HOLLY MESLOISE, who performed well in Vincennes races last winter, is another horse to watch. Following a break of a month and a half, she returned to racing on September 10 on the Abbeville grass track, hinting at a promising comeback.
Dark Horses and Outsiders
HARVEST DE BULIERE, based on his third-place finish on July 9 on the Sablé-sur-Sarthe grass track and fourth place on August 14 at Pornichet-La Baule in a level D race, is a potential contender. GAIA D’OCCAGNES, who made her comeback at Saint-Malo on August 9 after more than two months of absence, also has the caliber to shine in this type of event, even with the handicap of giving 25 meters.
FUEGO DU MORTIER, who finished fifth in the Quinté+ level C on July 12 at Enghien, is considered a strong outsider in this race. Similarly, GIBUS DE NAVARY, who secured fourth place on March 11 at Croisé-Laroche in a level E race, also stands a chance for a small place following his victory on March 17 at Enghien in an amateur level F race.
If There is a Non-Starter
In the event of a non-starter, FLAMENCO is a recommended choice, further showcasing the depth of talent expected at the Prix Petr du Pays de Thiérache.
With a strong lineup of skilled horses and talented jockeys, the upcoming race promises to be a thrilling event for fans of harness racing. Each contender brings their own unique strengths and strategies to the table, making the outcome of the race all the more unpredictable and exciting.
