Vinh Long recommended being more radical and decisive in order to tap potential

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has urged Vinh Long, a Mekong Delta province, to be more extreme and decisive in order to fully realize its potential and properly carry out socioeconomic development duties.

On November 23, PM Chinh encouraged the region to grasp and fully realize the Resolution accepted by the 13th National Party Congress, as well as other decisions on sustainable socio-economic development and national defense-security in the Mekong Delta in tandem with climate change, throughout a working session with the provincial Party Committee’s standing board in Vinh Long.

In the near future, he believes Vinh Long must continue to battle COVID-19 effectively, as well as provide the greatest conditions for socioeconomic recovery following the epidemic by increasing the disbursement of preferential credits to the right people in an open and transparent manner.

Vinh Long, located in the heart of the Mekong Delta, benefits from a favorable geographical location and climate, an efficient transportation infrastructure, and a plentiful workforce. As a result, the emphasis should be on sustainable agriculture and rural development, cultivation, animal husbandry, fisheries, and forestry, particularly hi-tech agriculture, with a shift to more processed produce.
