Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to visit Bihar on April 2 to participate in the celebration of Emperor Ashoka’s birth anniversary in Sasaram. The visit is seen as significant for the Bharatiya Janata Party’s plans for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Shah will attend public gatherings in Sasaram and Nawada, where he is expected to address the crowd. During his last visit to Bihar on February 25, Shah criticized Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of the state, and accused him of seeking Congress leader Sonia Gandhi’s support for the Prime Ministerial position.

On the occasion of Swami Sahjanand Saraswati Ji’s Jayanti, Shah spoke to the “Kisan-Majdoor Samagam” and said, “Nitish Kumar, who spent his entire life opposing the Congress, is taking the shelter of Sonia Gandhi only because of his desire to be in the Prime Minister’s post.”
Shah’s visit is expected to be a part of the BJP’s campaign strategy for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024. The party has been making efforts to strengthen its base in Bihar, which has been a politically important state in Indian politics.
