On November 25, Vuong Dinh Hue, Chairman of the National Assembly (NA), arrived in Hanoi. He had just returned from an official tour to the Philippines, a visit to Cambodia, and the 43rd General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-43).
Chairman Hue met with the presidents and vice presidents of the legislature of Cambodia and the Philippines. In Cambodia, he paid courtesy calls to King Norodom Sihamoni and Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk. In the Philippines, he met up with Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos and Vice President Sara Duterte.
He spoke with local leaders from Cambodia and the Philippines while in the Cambodian province of Kampong Thom.
The NA leader also attended a session on bilateral trade and investment and met with CEOs of certain Philippine companies doing business in Vietnam. In addition, he spoke with representatives of the Vietnamese community in Cambodia and the Philippines while visiting the Vietnamese embassies in both countries.
Hue’s trip to Cambodia was his first as NA Chairman and part of celebrations for the 55th anniversary of the two nations’ diplomatic relations as well as the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Year 2022.
