During his first official visit to the Philippines since taking office last year, National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue stopped by the Vietnamese Embassy on November 24.
The NA Chairman told the embassy staff that his delegation was warmly welcomed by the host leaders and that both the House of Representatives and the Senate passed resolutions to promote connections between the Vietnamese and Philippine legislative bodies. He said that the Philippine side had established the Philippine-Vietnam Parliamentarians’ Friendship Society.
Hue addressed the embassy’s employees on his activities during the trip, including conversations with the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President of the Senate, meetings with the President and Vice President of the Philippines, and attending a trade-investment event.
He concluded from his tour that the efforts of Vietnamese and Filipino leaders and enterprises, as well as the nations’ collaboration potential, are enormous. When the two countries commemorate five decades of diplomatic relations in 2026, they want their bilateral economic turnover to reach $10 billion USD.
