Northern Ireland Secretary Chris Heaton-Harris stated to have established a budget to “under control” the region’s public finances. In a written ministerial statement outlining his spending priorities, Mr. Heaton-Harris sent a sharp message to Stormont parties: if they disagree with his budget, restore the powersharing executive.
Additionally, he hinted that the Government of Northern Ireland would consider a variety of options for revenue-raising, including considering the implementation of water charges.
