Errol Musk, father of Tesla CEO Elon Musk, has been accused of inappropriate conduct with his stepdaughter, Jana Bezuidenhout, during her teenage years. The incident reportedly took place in November 2002, when Errol entered Jana’s room to fix a lightbulb. Although nothing inappropriate occurred, Jana felt uncomfortable, leading Errol to agree to ask permission before entering her room in the future.

Moving to Los Angeles

In 2002, Elon Musk persuaded his father to move to Los Angeles with his then-wife and stepchildren. However, concerns arose about Errol’s close attention to Jana. In response, Elon purchased a yacht for his father to live on, allowing him to see his family only on weekends. Despite efforts to rectify his father’s behavior through various means, Elon found his father’s behavior progressively worsened.

Return to South Africa and Divorce

Errol Musk returned to South Africa in 2003, with his family following him. This reportedly happened after Elon had confiscated their passports. A year later, in 2004, Errol divorced Heide Bezuidenhout, thus ending his stepfather relationship with Jana. However, the story took a dramatic turn in 2017 when Errol and Jana had a child together. They now have two children.

Years later, it was revealed that Elon Musk had concerns about Errol’s attention towards Jana when she was underage. This concern amplified when in 2017, Errol and Jana had a child together. Elon and his brother Kimbal were reportedly horrified and angry when they found out about Jana’s first pregnancy. Until then, Elon Musk had been financially supporting his father. Following these revelations, Elon Musk publicly called his father a “terrible human being”.

Kimbal Musk stated that he had been slowly trying to reconcile with his father. However, after learning that Errol had a child with Jana, he decided he no longer wanted to speak to him. Errol’s actions not only strained his relationship with his sons but also led to public condemnation and a deeper rift within the family.
