Probe fine two officers guilty in former COAS Tax details leak.

Due to their suspected involvement in the disclosure of the family’s income tax information by Army Chief of Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, two Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) officers have been dismissed from their positions.
 

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar instructed Mr. Tariq Mehmood Pasha, SAPM on Revenue, to personally supervise an immediate inquiry into the violation of tax law and breach of FBR data, assign responsibility, and produce a report as soon as possible in response to the release of tax information.

Atif Nawaz Waraich, a deputy commissioner of internal revenue, and Zahoor Ahmed, a deputy commissioner of revenue, were reportedly fired as a result of the report’s conclusions. Sources say the COAS and the family’s tax details were leaked through their login and password.
