PM Phm Minh Chnh meets with Australian Deputy Prime Minister Richard Donald Marles

Prime Minister Phm Minh Chnh highlighted that Vietnam has always placed a high value on relations with Australia and values their potential and position in the international arena.

During his official visit to Vietnam, he met with Australian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Richard Marles in Hà Ni.

PM Chnh welcomed the working visit, noting that the two nations will mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations next year.

The Prime Minister believes that the visit would strengthen bilateral defense ties and further deepen bilateral relations, therefore contributing to global peace, prosperity, and growth.

He expressed his joy at the two countries’ excellent development, with cooperation treaties signed. Political collaboration and delegation exchanges at all levels were effectively maintained.

Cooperation in trade and investment has become a bright spot in the two countries relationship. PM Chnh praised Australia’s assistance to Vietnam in COVID-19 prevention and control, as well as peacekeeping.

He lauded the two countries’ defense cooperation in overcoming the impacts of war and other collaborative efforts, including the ASEAN Defense Ministers’ Meeting Plus (ADMM-Plus).
